Catching Krazy – A Backstory
When I was growing up, my parents taught me to read using comics. Comics have always been a part of my life, and a very important part at that. But beyond having importance in just my life, comics are a significant part of culture that needs to be considered. Nowadays they have more prominence and relevance than ever before. Superhero movies are everywhere, making comic discussions as likely to happen at the dinner table as in a comic store. Webcomics are another emerging medium of comics, with the ability to connect more people and reach more readers because of their free availability online. And they have a freedom of format that neither traditional print comics nor comic movies have, allowing them to experiment and explore. I think this will open up fascinating new possibilities to digital media and writing, and I’d like to explore the history of webcomics, what people have been trying, and where it can go. I also believe comics of every type have a unique ability to resonate with people, and I’d like to encourage people to read more of them and find things they truly enjoy.
